Mr. Massel has over eight years of experience in virtually all aspects of both in-court and out-of-court restructurings in a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Massel was an associate in the Business Reorganization and Restructuring Department at the law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. At Willkie, Mr. Massel represented debtors, investors, creditors and other parties of interest in complex restructurings, including Adelphia Communications Corporation, Werner Holdings, 360networks and Centerbridge Capital Partners in its preferred investment in Dana Corporation.

Mr. Massel received his bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor from New York University, where he graduated as a member of Order of the Coif. Mr. Massel is a member of the New York state bar.
