Mr. Samett is a Managing Director and co-head of Lazard Middle Market’s distressed advisory and restructuring practice. He joined LMM in 2008 with 20 years of
experience advising clients on restructurings and the purchase, sale, and financing of distressed and healthy assets. Mr. Samett has been involved in transactions in
the United States, Europe and Latin America across a broad range of industries, representing debtors, creditors, equity holders and purchasers.
Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Samett was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co., where he led their Restructuring and Distressed M&A practice.
During his tenure at Bear Stearns, Mr. Samett also served as a senior member of the Leveraged Finance Group as well as the Chief Operating Officer of the Telecom
Group. Prior to joining Bear Stearns in 1996, Mr. Samett was a Senior Vice President at Rothschild Inc, specializing in restructurings and mergers & acquisitions.
Mr. Samett also spent several years at a predecessor firm of Ernst & Young in their Mergers & Acquisitions Consulting Group, at which time he became a Certified
Public Accountant.
Mr. Samett received his masters of business administration from Cornell University and his bachelor of science degree at State University of New York at Buffalo.
