Alex Weil is a member of Lazard Middle Market’s Financial Institutions Group. Mr. Weil has more than 15 years of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transaction experience with respect to depository institutions, securities & brokerage, investment banks, asset management, financial technology, specialty finance, and insurance.

Prior to joining Lazard Middle Market, Mr. Weil was a senior investment banker with UBS in its Financial Institutions Group responsible for covering domestic depository institutions. Prior to that, he was with Citi’s Corporate M&A group and had co-headed Corporate M&A for its Institutional Clients Group. While at Citi, he was responsible for the evaluation of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, firm investments and other strategic transactions on a global basis across the firm’s institutional, corporate and consumer businesses. Mr. Weil also worked in corporate development at General Electric and in equity research at William Blair & Company.

Mr. Weil holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
